This means keeping your domain at the current registrar, but changing where the domain points (DNS settings).
Steps to Point Domain to New Host:
- Get the Nameservers or A Record from the New Host
- Example: ns1.gonlinesites.com – ns4.gonlinesites.com
- Log in to Your Domain Registrar
- E.g., GOnline Sites, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.
- Update the Domain’s Nameservers
- Go to DNS management or Nameserver settings
- Replace old nameservers with the new ones
- OR
- Change only the A record to point to the new IP address
- Wait for DNS Propagation
- Takes up to 24–48 hours
